Some views on the complicated issues of 'real life'

I never knew wedding involved so much work . Look at what we had to do to get married (we didn't yet):

- We had to go to some sort of seminar for 5 days in a row (5x4 hours of quite boring stuff)
- We had to collect 4 documents (2 different per person) from various officials and than go to the communal centre to get a permit (paying money for each document)
- We had to collect 3 different church papers (from 3 different churches) and bring them to the church we are getting married in (all of the churches are in the same town)
- We had to buy: 2 suits (one was 'ok' but the other one was 'great'), not finalised number of dresses (decision stil pending) and 2 rings
- We had to book a restaurant in advance - and as they don't serve cakes, we had to book a cake in a separate restaurant

Calculate at least two visits to any location per item, and You'll get a whole lot of wasted time. Add a lot of stress time, thinking time, planning time and You get two very distressed individuals. And our wedding is considered 'extremely modest' by general standards - we didn't send invitations (telephone calls are easier), buy any decorations for cars, church or retaurants, order live music, photograpers and so on... I can't understand why people choose to do it this way. Seems like a whole lot of complication for such a simple thing.

Or maybe the secret is that all of this shit that I had to do will make me awfully happy when I finally do get married - because all of this is behind me. Makes sense.

Where are you getting married at? I just had to go get my marriage license and go to the justice of the peace. Nothing easier than that. I used to be upset that I didn't get the whole fairy princess. Congratulations, I hope you have a wonderful wedding and marriage after all of the boring, annoying and expensive details are squared away.

Probably different country. And thanks, but I just hope all of this chaos ends as soon as possible so I can get back to living.
